Reflection #10 Technology through time

It's strange thinking about the high school I went to and how different it is to the technology I am so used to having in the classroom now. My high school did not have projectors and screens, much less interactive whiteboards. We didn't have document cameras or flip videos. My senior year many of the classrooms didn't even have DVD players in them. I'm not sure how much of that has changed (probably not much) but it's interesting to think how different my education might have been with all those things. Honestly, though, I still feel like I got a terrific education. It really is the teacher that makes a good classroom, technology just backs up good instruction. I hope that I will be a good teacher that uses technological tools available to me to aide my students in the classroom.

You are so right -- it is the teacher not the technology that is the key to learning in the classroom. The challenge for teachers is to find and use the best technology
