In 5 years

I can see technology changing the classroom significantly in five years. I imagine that many schools will issue laptops for every student by that time. I already know of a few schools that already have laptops available for every student in the classroom.

I can also see computer and technology training required by the state. Things like using HTML and encoding will be required in order to graduate high school.

I think in large, the classroom setting will probably look very much the same. Students will still sit at desks and teachers stand in front of the classroom. Students and teachers alike will have to learn to juggle the prescriptive teaching and note-taking style with digital visual aides and interactive multimedia power points.

I had never thought of greater technology requirments to graduate, but I think you've probably hit on a a big issue. I think this will probably be at the forefront of many education discussions in the coming years. It only makes sense that education keep up with the growing technology.

Wow...I can't imagine my school having laptops for every student. That would just be unheard of at a private school...which is a disadvantage. Once they graduate, unless they have taught themselves and informed themselves on what technological advances there are, they will potentially be behind the times.
