Oh how I love the SmatBoard. It is so easy to use. It's valuable even if a teacher is only going to use it to run power point on because it frees the teacher from being stuck behind a computer screen. It is also great if you want to use links to websites, you can put them right on your slide show and click straight to it!
Any lesson can become more interesting to a student by making it interactive. The lesson I'm preparing to show the class has a few simple matching exercises, and I think that can make all the difference to some students. There are so many resources out there to help teachers use interactive whiteboards that if a teacher has one, there's no excuse for not using it. I see myself mostly using the Smartboard as a teaching tool to help explain and do grammar exercises. Imagine, being able to underline and circle sentences that are printed out for me! As a person with terrible handwriting, it will be much easier for students to read type that I can interact with (and students can as well.
