Reflection #5 Animoto, my new best friend
Seriously, I haven't had so much fun with a website since I first started to figure out Myspace! The video above is my the first one I made(after several remixes). I know I wrote a little about Animoto on Assignment #2, but it's so great I had to write about it some more. I've started to share this site with anyone who will listen to me. My sister made one of her and her husband. I made one for my best friend as an "I miss you" gift that I sent her on Myspace. I probably remixed that thing at least 20 times (using 3 different songs) just trying to get it PERFECT.
I'm seriously considering getting an All-Access pass. I was pleasantly surprised that it's only $30 for unlimited full-length (full song) videos for an entire year. That's incrdibly reasonable. Actually, that's dirt cheap! I would expect something like that to only cover a month.
As for the classroom, I can see Animoto being used in many different ways. I read on their site they're working on being able to add text into their video's soon. Even just lableing something using paint or other simple photo editing software, students could use pictures to depict a chapter or scene from a book. I also read on someone else's blog (I think Abi's) about using Animoto video's as an introduction tool at the beginning of the year. I'm going to continue using Animoto and looking for new and exciting ways to use it in the clasroom.
